Birth Support
As your pregnancy support we get to know you and your situation through a series of antenatal visits. We always do our best to support you according to your wishes. We will discuss your needs and desires for birth and beyond and provide any information you may require to aid decision making. We can provide a template and work with you to write your birth plan.
We take time to discuss the process of birth, and answer any questions you and your birth support/partner may have. A Doula can give excellent practical advice regarding positioning, relaxation, what your partner can do and provide referrals to other health practitioners in the area.
As a guideline our Doula package includes 4 anternal visits. Services may be extended to include massage (recommended) at each visit, rebozo and naturopathy if required.

Your Doula will meet you at your chosen place of birth, and be present as you settle in. We arrange the room as per your request, and maintain the space in the ways discussed in the antenatal visits. We provide constant physical and emotional support to both you and your partner. We can remind you of positions that may be comfortable, massage sore legs and shoulders, apply heat packs, offer words of encouragement, make sure you remain hydrated, and be there while your partner takes a short break.
Your Doula will remain with you for a few hours after the birth of the baby. We can quietly tidy the room, help you in the shower, take photos of the first moments, organise food and help carry your things if you are moved to another room.

Our Doula package includes 2 postnatal visits. We also offer postnatal support to mothers and their families on a flexible, as needed basis. We work with mothers who are just recently home from hospital and also mothers with slightly older babies. Sometimes it is not until later that the need for support becomes apparent or desirable. Our support allows parents to have the time, space and confidence to adapt to life with the newest member of the family. The focus of support is on the mother, listening to her and enabling her to find her own way of mothering.
